Magdeburg Indians is an organization consisting of more than 500 Indians including Students, Scientists, and Professionals living in Magdeburg. The Organization got officially registered as a Verein in the State of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany on 14th December 2016. The members of the association decided to formally inaugurate the Verein on the 68th Republic Day, the Constitutional day of India. The Verein was inaugurated by Prof.Dr.rer.nat.Franziska Scheffler, Vice-President of University of Magdeburg, Dr. Uwe Genetzke, Director International Office, OvGU and Dr. Chary Khandavalli, Manager Regulatory Affairs Novartis GmbH. Mr. Deeban Chakravarthi, Founding President, Magdeburg Indians e.V. presented the timeline about the evolution of Magdeburg Indians organization and pitched the membership benefits. Members benefited from the organization shared their experiences how Magdeburg Indians helped from the day of reaching Magdeburg to their stay in the city. Mr. Jitendra Rai, PRO, Magdeburg Indians e.V. explained the projects handled like Magdeburg Cricket Team registered collaboration with DCB (Deutsche Cricket Board) and plans for helping students in Magdeburg. Classical Dance, Patriotic Live music performance, and Bollywood Dance preceded by Virtual Flag hoisting attracted more than 120 people in the event. Mr. Fredrick Johnson, Founder, and Secretary of Magdeburg Indians e.V proposed the Vote of Thanks. The event ended with refreshments and membership registration for the Verein.
